Reduction in homicides following new regulations in Bogotá

The mayor of In Bogotá, Colombia, reports on a significant reduction on gun homicides in the first month of an experimental ban on civilian gun carrying in the city. In February of 2012 there were 95 homicides, a reduction of 27 compared to February 2011. The number of weapons seized during the month increased by 62% compared to last year. The ban is planned to last for 3 months, from the beginning of February until the end of April this year.
