US: Victory for Disarm Domestic Violence campaign

The IANSA Women’s Network applauds two new measures to help prevent armed domestic violence signed into law in the US this month. A new law in Connecticut means that domestic violence offenders will have to surrender their firearms to police or sell them to licensed firearm dealers. In New York state, a conviction related to domestic violence will now make a person ineligible for a firearms identification card which is required for the possession of firearms. The IANSA Women’s Network campaign to Disarm Domestic Violence aims to ensure that anyone with a history of domestic abuse is denied access to a firearm, and has their license revoked.
