Italian arrests suggest back door arms trade with Iran

Two Iranians and five Italians have been arrested in Turin, on suspicion of trafficking arms to Iran, in violation of UN sanctions. On Friday, Iranian news agencies reported that Tehran had called for an explanation from the Italian ambassador Alberto Bradanini. Italian sources claimed that the arrests had halted a planned shipment of anti-tank rockets and explosives to Iran. Among the intercepted cargo were 1000 rifle scopes. More
