New Resources

2017 is set to be one of the most important years in our history as we seek to strengthen international efforts to reduce the proliferation of small arms and light weapons. We are preparing for 2018 when the next major meeting of the United Nations small arms process--RevCon3 (also known as the Third Review Conference on the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects)--will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

IANSA's report on actions taken by some of our members around the world for the 2016 Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence is available here: Please click on the PDF attachment below.

Following the five days of meetings at the UN Headquarters in New York for BMS6, IANSA has published a report on all country positions related to the following topics: Ammunition, Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) & Programme of Action (PoA), Civil Society, Destruction, Gender & Women, Youth, and Victoms & Survivors.

IANSA welcomes our new UN Liaison Officer, Rose Welsch. She takes over from Michele Poliacof, whom we thank for her years of dedicated service, and for agreeing to continue sharing her wisdom and advice with us. Rose will be responsible for coordinating civil society participation in the Sixth Biennial Meeting of States on Small Arms (BMS6), to be held at UN Headquarters in New York 6-10 June 2016.

The First Committee of the GA begins on 7 October and runs until 9 November 2015. Information on sessions can be found here.
